I made some super deliciously (cheap) good dog treats for my little pup Layla this past week & boy did she LOVE them. So easy and inexpensive, I think I am going to start making my own snacks for her instead of buying them at the pet store!
Layla's birthday is coming up next month and I figured I would try out a few recipes in hopes of hitting the jackpot & making something drool worthy (literally) for Layla and her doggy pals!
The best part about making your own dog treats is that you can make them any shape and size!! I bought some super cute treat cutters on Amazon if you're in the market for some!
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup pumpkin
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add stock and stir until well-combined. Once combined, use your hands to press the dough into a ball. Place dough ball on a flat service (with a sprinkle of flour if needed) and roll out evenly with a rolling pin. Dough should be about ¼ inch thick. Use a cookie cutter to cut the dough into desired shape and place on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake for 15-20 mins or until treats are crunchy! Let them cool before storing them
